An Overview of the Group Meditation Class & Yoga Nidra Experience
Part 1 – Group Meditation
Group Meditation! Open to beginners, those wishing to renew an existing meditation practice and to long term meditators! Lisa Guyman will give basic instruction in meditation for about 10-15 minutes and then we’ll meditate together for about 25 minutes. We’ll have another 5-10 minutes after the meditation for questions and clarification.
The actual practice will be a silent meditation yet there will be enough instruction for those new to meditation to understand essentials of meditation and get started. This group meditation will also be perfect for students who have already taken a Primordial Sound Meditation* workshop with Lisa Guyman.
If you are new to meditation you’ll likely find find it much easier and more relaxing then you expect!

Part 2 – Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra! From Yoga Journal ….”Yoga Nidra also known as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness, Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice that is rapidly gaining popularity in the West. It is intended to induce full-body relaxation and a deep meditative state of consciousness. ‘We live in a chronically exhausted, overstimulated world,’ says Rod Stryker. ‘Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of complete relaxation, holistically addressing our physiological, neurological, and subconscious needs.’ ”
“During a typical class, teachers use a variety of techniques—including guided imagery and body scanning—to aid relaxation”Yoga Nidra uniquely unwinds the nervous system,” Stryker says, ‘which is the foundation of the body’s well-being.’ ”
How it Works: You’ll get to relax in savasana (lying on your back) or if you prefer you can sit comfortably instead of lying down. Then you’ll be guided in an extended Yoga Nidra practice. Truly it’s the art of doing nothing and it has profound benefits!

Do I need to sit on the floor for the meditation? You’ll be sitting at home comfortably.
Do I need to lie down on the floor for Yoga Nidra? You can choose to sit for the Yoga Nidra practice, although lying down is preferred. You can lie on your sofa, your bed, in a recliner or on a yoga mat.
Do I need to know how to do yoga? I will not be guiding any asanas in this immersion although you are welcome to stretch on break.
Do I have to stay for both Part 1 and Part 2? If you wish to leave after the group meditation that is OK, however it’s best and most beneficial to attend both!
