A Journey of 584 Million Miles Begins

This globe, this earth, spinning an incomprehensible speed around a zillionth degree blazing star has made it’s journey of a trillion miles (technically the earth is moving at 67,000 mph, around a sun of 27 million degrees for 584 million miles) in the course of a year.

Sitting or standing a speck of light on this globe…..connecting to another speck of light on this globe through a strange device….

What journey have you been on in 365 days? To the edge of your possibility? To transformation? Or to the mail box and back?

As a Vedic Sage once said “to not value the gift of a human incarnation is like trading a diamond for a head of cabbage.”

We are here to awaken in our consciousness, in compassion and in love…and the pure joy of being alive. And it’s funny (in my mind) how transfixed we can be by modern culture and the microcosm or our lives…. falling asleep to extraordinariness of life and of ourselves.

And really….given….the grandness, the miracle, the mystery of this thing called life…..how about dancing the divine?

To me a quote that sums up the deeper call within us to not only be powerful, but to be magnificent, to not only be wise, but lighthearted and to not only allow ourselves to experience the deeper glory of life, but to allow others to . . . is what Marianne Williamson says below:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
