My First TV Interview on Meditation

Twenty years ago — back when YouTube was just getting started — I did my very first TV interview about meditation.

It was 2005. I was still pretty new to teaching meditation, my hair was different, the outfit… well, let’s just say it was very mid-2000s.

The show was filmed in Denver and focused on helping people with anxiety and depression — and we dove deep into how meditation can:

  • Calm a racing mind (even when you really don’t feel like sitting still)
  • Reduce stress and fear
  • Boost sleep, concentration, and even creativity
  • Support your health in surprising ways (think lower blood pressure, younger biological age, and faster recovery from stress)

You’ll also learn about simple breathing awareness techniques, mantra-based meditation, and discover that meditation doesn’t require saffron robes, shaved heads, or lifestyle overhauls.

If you’ve ever been curious about what meditation actually feels like, or how to start small and make it stick, you’ll enjoy this little time capsule:

And if you’re ready to move beyond just learning about meditation to truly learning how to meditate — I’d love to see you at one of my upcoming Primordial Sound Meditation workshops this September or November (or you can learn privately with me).

In a private session with me, you’ll receive your personal mantra, based on your time and place of birth. Primordial Sound Meditation is a simple, yet powerful technique you can practice anytime, anywhere (technology-free!)

In the meantime, enjoy the trip back to 2005 — and please, no fashion critiques.

Warmly,
Lisa

P.S. Keep an ear out for my little wisecrack partway through — it still makes me laugh.
