Seeing Yourself from a New Perspective
The coming of winter urges introspection. I recently joined a six week home study spiritual group. It’s been amazing. As part of our weekly circles we’ve looked at our goals, what’s been getting in our way, habits to break, our support structures and our vision for what we want to create in our lives.
Instinctually I began focusing my examination on my work and what’s next for me in that regard. Then a couple weeks passed and I realized that while I do want to reinvent my work and create changes there, that my career has often held priority over my personal life.
My focus then shifted to looking at my personal life. And as a result I’ve put energy into expanding my social circle, dating, taking improv, putting enrichment classes on my calendar, re-energizing my wardrobe with the help of a friend, attending yoga classes and scheduling Reiki sessions for myself.
I feel a greater sense of lightheartedness and I’m excited about emerging possibilities. At times, it feels a little disconcerting because I’m walking into new territories, but overall I feel good about the changes I’m making.
For me, I realized that my life felt out of balance. If someone followed you around for a couple weeks with a video camera and you watched the film what would it tell you about your life? How is the balance in your life? What area of your life could use your sweet attention? Is it your dreams, your work, your family, your spiritual life, relationships, enrichment or education?
Of course when looking at our lives it’s good to notice and be grateful for what IS working while we are looking at what we want to shift!
Enjoy the adventure!

I’m Grateful for . . .
At this time of Thanksgiving I wanted to say that I’m incredibly grateful for all of you. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have a healing practice and to be able to share the gift of Reiki, meditation, EFT and other musings with you. I’m grateful for my health, my family, my friends, for the planet, the stars and the whole universe.
