“This felt like a cosmic wink”…by Lisa Guyman

The other day, the universe gave me a sign that I was making a good choice.
It was like a cosmic wink.
It happened at lunchtime… I decided to make kitchari, an Ayurvedic Indian meal that’s very grounding and deeply nourishing. In Ayurveda, it’s considered one of the most supportive foods for well-being. In a nutshell, it’s a warm dish of split mung beans and rice with Indian spices.
So, there I was, jamming to rock and pop music in the kitchen. Apple Music had been playing the same genre for hours.
But, the second I pulled out my Indian spices, an Indian track started playing.
A song called “OM” by the band Soulfood.
I popped the ingredients in the Instant Pot, then just like that, Apple Music switched back to rock.
Yep. One song. One wink.
I had to laugh. It felt like the universe was saying, “Good choice. Keep going.”
Just a few days later, I had another cosmic wink.
As I was heading back to my car, I saw an actual sign taped to a post.

It stopped me in my tracks.
That’s what signs are supposed to do. Get our attention.
Through my decades of meditation training, I’ve learned…
When you’re evolving and in alignment, the universe organizes signs and events around you.
All nudging you toward trust and growth.
Here’s what I believe: The universe is always communicating. Just not in loud dramatic ways. More often, it’s subtle.
In words or songs, you need to hear.
In uncanny happenings and angel numbers.
In feelings that won’t go away.
Your intuition and the signs around you are part of the same conversation.
But most people are too busy or distracted to notice.
So if you’ve been asking for clarity, this might be your sign to pause and pay closer attention to what’s showing up. The universe might be encouraging a new direction. Or quietly reassuring you that you’re already on the right path.
You’re more guided than you may think.
Maybe this is your reminder. Even when life feels full or a little noisy, the magic doesn’t disappear. It’s still there, waiting for you to notice.
So take a breath. See what winks at you next.

P.S. In case you’re wondering, there wasn’t any contact info on that sign, just a plain beat-up piece of paper with this message on it:
This is a sign
Maybe this isn’t the sign you’ve been looking for, but this is the sign you got, and it says to take a risk on love. Let people surprise you.
Call her. Text him. Patch things up with friends, family, and lost loves. Life is too short, so touch base with that person you had doubts about or that you’ve been wanting to make peace with. Follow your heart and don’t let someone else be just another regret.
