New Study from Harvard University on Reiki Treatments
This is from the Center for Reiki Research:
“It’s been a long time coming, but the Reiki study conducted at Harvard by members of the Center for Reiki Research (Dr. Natalie Trent, Dr. Ann Baldwin, and William Rand) in 2015 and 2016 has now been accepted for publication in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine! This is the largest prospective Reiki study to date and hopefully will lead to more research.
A total of 1411 Reiki sessions were conducted and included in the analysis. Statistically significant improvements were observed for all outcomes of psychological and physical health, including pain, drowsiness, tiredness, nausea, appetite, shortness of breath, anxiety, depression, mood, and overall wellbeing, with moderate to large effect.
The results from this large-scale multi-site effectiveness trial suggest that a single session of Reiki improves physical and psychological health.”

Reiki and Healing Touch are supported by research!
This section below is from LifeSparknow.org. A wonderful non-profit in Colorado that provides Reiki and Healing Touch to individuals that have been diagnosed with cancer. It’s a remarkable organization and I’ve had countless students become volunteers with Life Spark.
Grade A Evidence for biofield therapies and cancer!
The newly published 2020 Edition of the Healing Touch Research Brief by Healing Beyond Borders evaluated research studies to date for biofield therapies (including Healing Touch and Reiki). Grade A is assigned to findings from multiple rigorous clinical studies showing the highest standard of evidence in the industry.
Grade A level evidence links biofield therapies with improvements in pain, quality of life, and immune function (Healing Touch) for cancer patients.
UCHealth/LifeSpark survey In June 2019, UCHealth, in collaboration with LifeSpark, conducted an informal survey among their patients who received LifeSpark sessions while in the Infusion Center. Thirty-five people participated in the survey.
Immune Function A randomized controlled trial at the University of Iowa studied 60 women with cervical cancer over a 6-week period while they received chemo-radiation treatments. The Healing Touch group showed significant preservation of natural killer cell activity while the Usual Care group and the Relaxation Training group both showed sharp declines.
Physical and emotional well-being As mentioned above a Harvard study based on 1,411 Reiki sessions showed statistically significant improvements in pain, nausea, anxiety, depression, tiredness, and well-being after just one session.
